This project has 3 main objectives aligned with our 3 core values:
Community, Opportunity, & Empowerment
Re-Joyce's Empowerment Project aims to uplift women and their families by providing comprehensive support and opportunities for growth. By alleviating rent burdens, the project ensures stable housing for women, allowing them to focus on personal and professional development. Education for children is prioritized, ensuring the next generation has the knowledge and skills to succeed. Technical training is offered to women, equipping them with valuable skills for better employment opportunities. Additional support services, including healthcare and counseling, further empower women to lead independent and fulfilling lives, fostering a cycle of growth and prosperity within their communities.
Until our shelter is completed, we would like to alleviate the burden of rent for one family. This would reduce financial stress on these young mothers and ensure a safe living space for those who need it. The specific need for this portion of the project is $400 to cover 4 months of rent.
We would like to educate the children and alleviate the childcare burden so that the kids can have a better future and the mothers can find work. The specific need of this portion of the project is $800 for tuition for four girls. $200 funds one girl including uniforms, full room and board, and school supplies for a term. There are 3 terms each school year.
We would like to provide Technical Training for young mothers: Training in skills like tailoring, weaving, baking, and craft making can help create job creators instead of job seekers. The training can also provide much-needed mentoring and support amongst women in the community. The specific need of this portion of the project is 3 sewing machines (about $50 each).
